UFC spent $620K on lobbying efforts in 2012

The UFC ranked second to the NFL in terms of lobbying expenses of sports organizations for 2012.  The UFC spent $620,000 last year in lobbying efforts which mostly relate to anti-piracy laws and educating legislators on MMA. Interesting - in the early 2000s, HBO had to defend "de facto" promoter allegations in front of Congress. If DAZN uses licensed promoters to organize the fights, it's hard to call them a "promoter." SRL signed deals with ABC and HBO without having a promoter, so it's been done.
