Alex Pereira goes Sneaker Shopping

December 2, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC Champion Alex Pereira made an appearance on Complex’s weekly video show, Sneaker Shopping. The YouTube Show is very popular and has had Jon Jones and Dana White on in the past.

If you have seen the show, Pereira was interviewed by the show’s host, Joe La Puma at a sneaker store, this time in New York discusses his favorite shoes. Notably, Pereira purchased a new pair of high-top vans which were the same as his old ones. In the video, he said that he would raffle his old shoes which he signed to charity.

Pereira only spent $2,540 which is very tame for the show. Last year, Jon Jones appeared on the show and spent just $1,532. Dana White was on the show 2 years ago and spent $493.12. For those wondering, despite what may be perceived as frugality on White, they also did a big feature on his $100K shoe collection.

Payout Perspective:

Pereira’s appearance is a good sign that they are trying to push him to be the face of the UFC. Despite not knowing English, his intimidating physical presence, yet humble demeanor make him someone the UFC could market. The show is seen by a lot of the younger demo that may be interested in the UFC. So, despite not having an upcoming fight to sell, the “get to know you” appearance scores a lot with the viewers.
