Celsius Essential Energy to sponsor Diaz-Paul

May 10, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The first press conference between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz took place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. It was announced that Celsius Essential Energy will be the lead sponsor for the fight.

The sponsorship activation started on Tuesday with the energy drink all over the press conference table.  No terms of the deal were revealed.  Jake Paul has a deal with Celsius and its clear this led to the sponsorship for the fight.

Per the Sports Business Journal it will get the center-ring branding for the fight night as well as branding on the ropes, broadcast and digitals/ social integration and product placement.

PepsiCo is the majority shareholder in Celsius.

Payout Perspective:

A big opportunity for the brand depending on how much the combat sports fans get interested in in this August 5th matchup.  Celsius already has a deal with PFL MMA and Paul so this made sense from its perspective and with Diaz’s popularity the exposure could pay off.
