Roots of Fight and Conor McGregor launch collaboration

January 8, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Canada-based clothing company, Roots of Fight announced a collaboration with Conor McGregor on Friday.  The collection includes t-shirts and sweatshirts with several photography-based shirts of the former UFC champion.

Via Roots of Fight

The collaboration comes in time for McGregor’s return to the UFC ring at UFC 257 later this month.  T-shirts go for $48 USD and hoodies go for $85 USD.

Via Roots of Fight web site:

With this collection, we pay respect to the undeniable force of nature that is Conor McGregor. Check out this limited edition ROF X CM collab that is only available for a few short weeks as we lead up to his fight on Jan 23 where he steps in to the cage against Dustin Poirier.

Payout Perspective:

The apparel announcement takes advantage of McGregor’s return.  The hope is that his fan base will want some new gear and purchase from Roots of Fight.  He is one of the only fighters that could negotiate such a deal.  Also, he is one of the only ones that has the bandwidth as an athlete to have an individual merchandise deal.
