UFC on Fox 15 draws 2.43 million viewers in overnight ratings

April 19, 2015 by Jason Cruz 39 Comments

Televison By Numbers reports that the UFC on Fox 15 event on Fox Saturday night drew an average of 2.43 million viewers which narrowly edged out the New York Rangers-Pittsburgh Penguins NHL game on NBC.

UFC on Fox 15 scored 2.43 million viewers, a 0.9 rating among the 18-49 demo and a 4 share.  The event ran from 8:00pm-10:00pm.  There was little, if any overrun as Luke Rockhold stopped Lyoto Machida in the main event.  The NHL on NBC (8:00pm-11:00pm) drew similar ratings with 2.41 million viewers, a similar 0.9 rating in the 18-49 category and a 3 share.

The UFC event was also up against the NBA Playoffs which aired on cable.

UFC on Fox 11 event which aired about the same time last year drew an initial overnight rating of 1.99 million viewers and was adjusted up to 2.5 million viewers.

In terms of overall viewership for the night, TV By Numbers is reporting that 48 Hours on CBS drew 6.25 million viewers in the 10pm slot Saturday

UFC on Fox 15 ratings

Payout Perspective:

This is a very good rating for the UFC considering it went up against the NHL Playoffs.  While it’s only the first round, one would think that the New York-Pittsburgh matchup would draw considerable interest from the two of the biggest television markets.  MMA Payout will have more on the ratings as they come in.

This was PBC’s 2nd show on NBC and it went up against nothing. The UFC’s 2nd show average well over 4m viewers. The Rockhold fight went up against playoff hockey and basketball.

PBC shows also cost 3-4x more than UFC’s. I do agree though, PBC will be cancelled within a year or two- depending on how much they are willing to lose.

So far, neither the UFC nor PBC has impressed on Network TV. The UFC has specially been going downhill since their Network debut… it’s still too early to tell for PBC but so far it has been pretty average. UFC fans in general are this very selective small group of people that can bring you good money on PPV or in subscription based models but too much of a niche audience for the big networks.

HAHAHAHA!!! PBC DID NOT DO BETTER YOU FUCKING IDIOT!! You just straight up lie and cherry pick stats non stop!!

The UFC has had 7 ufc on FOX shows beat the last PBC on NBC. That is also factoring in that these are PBC’s opening numbers which are FAR below expectation and DO NOT draw the same viewers in the coveted 18-49 demo.

Even considering this, that doesn’t include the fact that PBC shows cost 3-4x more to produce because they are grossly overpaying their fighters for a show that doesn’t cover those costs.

This is driving Sal nuts. He expected way better ratings from PBC and their best numbers don’t hold a candle to the UFC on FOX numbers. Just wait until late in the year when the hangover from Mayweather/Pac wears off and they start drawing avg ratings in the 1m range.

Haymon flushing millions down the toilet, the same location Sal’s life has always been in. HAHAHA!! Fucking idiot.

Logical ignoring the fact that these are PBC’s opening numbers and it will gradually go down just like the UFC’s have. Only difference is the UFC numbers were better in the beginning than PBC, plus they cost a fraction of what the PBC shows do. Seems like that niche audience is bigger than boxing’s.

The UFC ratings have been solid, clearly more than a niche market considering how many of these fighters have been in Hollywood films/tv. Boxing is attempting to follow the UFC’s model of network tv, but failing miserably due to their massive overhead.

Well keep on matching PBC up with each UFC on Fox. UFC is up 2-0. Next PBC event they have to beat the UFC on FOX 3 which was 2.2 million. PBC might win that match up and maybe the one after. But then the UFC will go on another run of wins and PBC has to hope they some how stop the decline in ratings. Decline is inevitable. We already saw the UFC numbers decline and saw how low they went and we also have seen the UFC rebound back into the 3 million plus range. PBC is in decline and has to hope they don’t drop even further than the UFC 2.2 million range. They also have to prove they can rebound. They have a lot of work to do to even come close to the UFC numbers.

I have a feeling PBC is going to slow decline and will always be between 1.5-2.5 million viewers. They don’t have the names or the brand to stop the decline or hand the large swing in viewers the UFC gets.

HAHAHAHHA!!! SAL AND MORE OF HIS LIES!!!!

Think about how pathetic you are you fucking idiot- you are using PBC’s total ratings, and comparing them to the UFC’s overnight ratings only and not the combined.

Here are the actual ratings fuck face.

    UFC on FOX 1……..5.8m
    UFC on FOX 2……..4.7m
    UFC on FOX 3……..2.4m
    UFC on FOX 4……..2.4m
    UFC on FOX 5……..4.4m
    UFC on FOX 6……..4.2m
    UFC on FOX 7……..3.7m
    UFC on FOX 8…….2.4m
    UFC on FOX 9…….2.8m
    UFC on FOX 10…..3.2m
    UFC on FOX 11…..2.5m
    UFC on FOX 12…..2.5m
    UFC on FOX 13…..2.8m
    UFC on FOX 14……3m
    UFC on FOX 15……2.8m

The actual numbers above prove that the first two shows that the UFC did, destroyed the first 2 NBC primetime PBC shows. Plus, it shows like I said that 7 of the FOX shows drew more average viewers than the Garcia fight on NBC.

This also mostly went up against stiffer competition than PBC did and had better ratings across the board in the 18-49 demo.

Sal thinks overhead is something that physically sits above you and then implies I don’t know what I’m talking about. This fucking idiot is in such denial, he can’t even follow his own lines of bullshit.

Sal, you are in a bind. You don’t even realize you’ve contradicted yourself on this a million times. You brag and rant and rave about how much the boxers get paid and how little the ufc fighters get paid, then when it comes to discussing overhead, you talk about how high the ufc’s is and how boxing’s overhead is lower. Your idiotic logic doesn’t add up, retard. The biggest cost involved in this is your fighter payroll. The PBC cards are insanely over inflated. They paid purses out for that 1st PBC show in the 6m range with a shit gate and no tv rights fees. The advertisers may have paid for the Time Buy, but where is the money coming from for the fighters? The aggressive promotion, etc? The answer is the investors. How do you pay back your investors if you lose 6m in one show? You don’t, it just turns into a bubble. When Haymon can’t borrow another dime, he will be considered a colossal fool and will never have anything to do with boxing again.

Saldaqueef in desperate denial. What a moron.

Hey bitch thats what Boxing got its last event in the same demo (0.9) so if your killing it how is boxing not killing it. BAHAHAHA. The sad part is that this was actually a big fight. Rockhold vs machida are pretty much top 3 contenders. Wow. no one cares about mma. I love the excuses, the nhl hockey playoffs were on. bitch please when boxing on pbc was on the first time it went up against north carolina vs duke. my my. D’s excuse. well we can afford it because the ufc pays its fighters shit. LOL by the way chavez jr made 2.5 million last night and his opponent 400k. but but only mayweather and Pac make money in Boxing fightbusiness. BAHAHA (yes I know chavez sucks) which makes his salary further proof that Boxers man handle the dry humpers when it comes to pay. May 2nd equals dooms day. thats the day boxing takes a massive shit on the dry humping league. 4 million ppv buys at 100 dollars a pop. BAHAHAHA name me one mma fight that can do those numbers. and these are welterweights. lol

Haha. Fagbusiness is desperate. Also, when you use quotations, that means you are taking a direct quote of what they stated, show me were I said “we’re killing it”. You stupid fucking idiot.

Boxing’s .9 went up against nothing. The UFC went up against NHL and the NBA playoffs. Also, .9 was the rating, not the amount of viewers.

Hahaha. Fagbusiness pathetically trying to spin the numbers. This did basically the same viewers as the Garcia fight, but no one would confuse Rockhold or Machida as big draws in mma. They would claim Garcia is a big draw in boxing. NC vs Duke isn’t even close to the level of competition that the NBA and NHL playoffs are, especially seeing how there are several games in a variety of markets for the playoffs, but basically only 1 for NC vs Duke.

HAHAHAHA!! Fagbusiness is making my argument for me. If Chavez Jr made 2.5m, his opponent made 400k, than I think its safe to say the entire payroll made at least 3m. Kind of tough to show a profit when your gate revenue is barely a net, and you have to rely on tv rights fees. Boxers are dry humpers weirdo. Haha.

More like May 3rd equals dooms day for boxing. That superfight will be the last of the mohicans. Hahaha. Standup dry humping will be in the shitter from there on. You better enjoy that snooze fest fag boy. 4m ppv buys? Even Arum thinks its only going to do 3m now and he exaggerates more than anyone.

Yeah, those are welterweights, because no other weight class in boxing can even sell a ppv, and hw boxing has been in a grave for over a decade. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

But we are comparing the third biggest promoter in boxing to the major mma promoter by a long shot in mma, the ufc. Who by the way promoted fox with a mega push with tons of promos but also multi seasons of tuf, and all their numbers have taken a shit!!! A far cry from where they were and where they thought they would be now!!! But dont worry girls!! UFC fighters are now in Hollywood movies!! bahahahahah

D- Boxing went up against Nasacar you moron which has a HUGE 18-49 demo. Machida is a hall of famer and Rockhold is a HUGE prospect. what the fuck are you talking about. Lamont Peterson is a decemt fighter but he isnt a star. I figured out why D loves MMA. because it has acronyms like BJJ and moves called the rear naked choke. BAHAHA D has repressed gay desires. go roll on the matt wth men D. you must love sniffing their asses. By the way the clinch in Boxing is less than 3 seconds and DISCOURAGED. the ref breaks it up. In the dryhumping league it involves their penises since they are on their back and their legs are spread. then they mount each other liked their being prison raped. then they press their penis on their opponents backs because of the rera naked choke. BAHAHAHA UFC= gay hard core porn. Look at Silva kissing Weidman and dana white smiling.

Not the same as going up against NBA/NHL playoffs. Much higher viewership, much bigger in the 18-49 demo, completely different crowd. How many NASCAR fans are potential crossovers to boxing, idiot?

HAHAHA!! Here comes your crazy desperate incoherent nonsense:

” Machida is a hall of famer and Rockhold is a HUGE prospect.”

Machida is not at all a hall of famer. He won a title once, and had 1 title defense which everyone knows he lost anyway. He never regained the title. So by your analysis, fighters like Arlovski, Maurice Smith, Kevin Randleman, etc are hall of famers.

I realized why Fagbusiness loves boxing, because it involves champions who are openly gay. And the biggest super star, Floyd Gayweather. Plus, it involves boxers wearing tassels on their boots dry humping each other in a standing position. They clinch frequently and Gayweather has admitted to touching his opponent’s asses with his gloves. Fagbusiness also loves it when boxers bite each other. By the way, it is getting alarming how much you are focusing on men sniffing each other’s assholes. Weird and extremely gay seeing how that is only a figment of your imagination.

You’ve seen gay hardcore porn? Yuck. Hahahahaha!! FAGBUSINESS!! BOXING CHAMPS ARE OPENLY GAY!! HAHAHAHA!
