Wrestlemania 42 took place over the weekend at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for the second straight year. Based on the announced attendance, the promotion fell short of its records last year.
Wrestlemania 42 night 1 drew 50,816 fans on Saturday. In 2025, the event drew 58,538. Night 2 on Sunday drew 55,255 fans which was less than the reported 60,103 for a two night total of 106,071. Overall, a loss of approximately 12,000 fans from last year.
There are several reasons for the downturn in attendance. One, the price for the event seemed to be the biggest barrier for attendance. The fact WWE discounted prices reflects the concern in the dip in ticket revenue. Obviously, based on the reported attendance, night 1 was not very popular among fans. Second, going back to the same city two years in a row. Last year, WWE saw record revenue and rolled the dice on having the same impact in the same venue. However, it seemed like people stayed at home this time out. One of the reasons the company travels the event is the novelty of going to a new city and experiencing different things. Vegas was great in 2025, but in comparison 2026 did not do as well. Finally, the storylines seemed strained. In the end, the Cody Rhodes-Randy Orton match was great and did not include Jelly Roll-Pat McAfee in huge roles for it, but the buildup was less-than-stellar. Of course, last year’s Wrestlemania main event fell short with Travis Scott appearing too much and the Rock not appearing at all. At least on Sunday’s finale, we saw a match that told a story between CM Punk and Roman Reigns without any special appearances.
In conclusion, its clear that last years event outperformed this years event but remember that Wrestlemania 41 set records. While Wrestlemania 42 did not do as well as 41, it still made the company a lot of money.
