UFC 174 attendance, gate and bonuses

June 15, 2014 by Jason Cruz 19 Comments

MMA Junkie reports the attendance, gate and bonuses from Saturday’s UFC 147 from Vancouver.  The event posted less than stellar attendance and gate numbers.

The attendance and gate were 13,506 for a gate of $1.14 million.  The last time that the UFC visited Rogers Arena in 2011 for UFC 131, it posted a better attendance and gate at the same venue.  We had noted that ticket demand was lagging for this event.

The bonuses for Saturday were as follows:

Tae Hyun Bang: $100K for Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night

Kiichi Kunimoto: $50K Performance of the Night

Kajan Johnson: $50K Fight of the Night.

Johnson and Bang were awarded FOTN.  Kunimoto pulled off an upset of Daniel Sarafian during the prelims portion of the card.

Payout Perspective:

It was not the best of nights for the UFC despite two great performances by Rory MacDonald and Demetrious Johnson (and maybe OSP).  While Johnson may be the best pound for pound fighter in the UFC, at this point, he is not a draw.  As for the rest of the card, the MacDonald fight was the only one that the fans seemed into.   MMA Payout will have more on this event in its Payout Perspective.

Venue holds 19700 for a sold out fight aprox, Gate was 13,506 with comps.
unsold thats 6,194 seats, 31% unsold and a 69% full house. at 1.4 million thats ticket average of $103 us. They most likley lost money on fighters pay before any production costs. Waste of time and money having a show in BC should have done it in Vegas at a smaller venue. Zuffa must have a nice ballroom or small arena in one of their casinos WTF, amateurs with no knowladge of downsizing their budget, I guess they don’t care.

Sam interesting link, however its out dated, I wonder what station is worth now since Vegas is on it’s ass and why would you need to borrow 100’s of millions unless you were already leveraged out your ass and had no capital. Sounds like a paper tiger of BS. 2 billion my balls, maybe in 2009 not in 2014 even the big boys are down in Vegas

Really Cotto didn’t fight Froch?? OMG thanks Hey Daaruk Whats with you in Arum? Still mad that Arum who is an asshole has more success then almost any promoter on the planet. Dana and zuffa could wash Arums car when it comes to longevity in the fight game. You don’t see Arum having to borrow half a billion bucks bhahaha

Not in his last fight moron.

Haha. Defending Arum because you are his welfare to work slave, you bitch.

What is Arum’s cut of the profits? No where near what Zuffa’s are. You fucking idiot. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t point out how Dana and co. nickle and dime fighters and then claim they aren’t making money.

Yeah, you won’t see Arum borrow a half a billion dollars, because he doesn’t have the credit for it. The UFC dwarfs Top Rank in assets, it isn’t even close! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Haha. It is pretty comical how much of an idiot you are. They destroy Top Rank and GB every year. It isn’t even comparable. The boxers have the power in boxing, not the promoters. It is the opposite in mma. You are a fucking idiot who doesn’t even know basic business information. You are clueless on all of this bullshit you post. You are more full of shit than anyone on here and you contradict yourself left and right.

Keep sucking Arum’s nuts, Queef boy!
