MMA Payout has learned from Nielsen sources that Bellator 108 scored an average viewership of 793,000 viewers. However, Rampage Jackson’s debut with the company scored a high of 1.1 million viewers with a peak of 1.2.
In the main event of the two hour broadcast, Jackson fought Joey Beltran earning a KO in the first round. During the main event, the broadcast, between 10:30 p.m.-10:45pm drew 1.1 million viewers with a 1.2 million peak.

Payout Perspective:
One might infer that the strong ratings show that Rampage Jackson is still a draw and that Bellator made the right decision to sign him. Although his shoulder programming leading up to the nixed PPV, Rampage 4 Real, fizzled after the cancelled fight people tuned in on Friday to watch him. The ratings high during the two hour event jumped during his fight and he did not disappoint those that tuned in with a first round KO. We shall see how Bellator plans to use Jackson in the future.
He was getting his ass kicked by a guy with a near .500 record. This fight just showed me that QJ took another step back.

I wouldn’t say they are gaining quickly. However, they are definitely closing the gap. The UFC is a runaway train that is going to run out of steam eventually. It has already started to slow down.
This is some healthy compatition for a sport that has been monipulated by one force. It would be great for the sport to see 2 champions from meet for a title. Unfortunately the UFC would rather fold than to see that happen.

If you cant see the technical and physical decline of a fighter in a fight. Then this sport might not be for you. In fact by your logic there is not point in watching the fight at all. If the result is all that matters. Why even watch it at all. Just check out the sherdog fight finder the next day.
For the rest of us. Beating the Mexicutioner is meaningless. The only point of the fight is to see if QJ looks decent doing it. Fact is he didn’t look good at all. We already knew QJ hit hard. The problem is he isn’t able to hit anyone worth a damn. LOw and behold he struggled to even land on a pure brawler. Which means he still gets raped even worse by any good fighter. The worst part is this was his big coming out party after being a free agent. This was the one fight he had reason to really step it up and be at his best. So what happens when he is complacent in his later fights? As bad as he was in this fight. He will only get worse. Rampage has always been a lazy fighter who doesn’t train properly.

Name me one company is would do that? You seem to not understand business or making smart choices for that matter. The UFC is the top dog. It would be the dumbest move on earth to take a smaller rival and give them credibility by putting this on a equal level. You don’t see that in any industry. Because it is stupid. So lets not act like the UFC is bad guys for not endorsing their rivals. Because every single person in the world in their shoes would do the same thing.
In fact Pride was the top dog for a few years and they refused to match up champs also. The UFC wanted Chuck vs Wandy. Pride refused and get to use Chuck they offered to put him on the other side of the bracket in the tournament. But they would have never let that fight happen. They would be stupid to give the UFC a chance to steal any credibility they had. Its a no win situation for the Big dogs and a no lose situation for the smaller promotion.
The ONLY way what you want can happen is if someone does exactly what the UFC has done. That is buy out rival promotions so they can match up the champions. The UFC has done it every single time. Where as someone other than Zuffa might not set up those fights even if they did buy them out.
The best fights in MMA history come after the UFC buys a rival. Competition in MMA is counter productive. A house divided can not stand.

Like what fights for example? For example FOTY at World MMA Awards (very UFC centric…) – there is just one fight (WSilva vs. Liddell) in the last 5 years, that can be attributed to “UFC bought competetion”.
If you repeat “competetion in MMA is wrong, mkaaaay”, it doesn’t mean that is a fact. It is still just your opinion. IMO more organizations = more interesting stories to tell = more interesting fights.
Tapology – TOP 10 fights of all time – exactly one of them is based on UFC bought competetion (and it is the same one – WSilva vs. Liddell). Yeah, first is Henderson vs. Rua, but that is a PRIDE vs. PRIDE fight, it could happen in PRIDE if it still operated.
