MMA Payout has learned from industry sources that Wednesday’s UFC Fight for the Troops received an average viewership of 641,000 viewers. UFC Fight Night 31 was dedicated to the U.S. troops and featured Tim Kennedy as he defeated Rafael Natal in the main event.

UFC Fight Night 28: 539,000 viewers
UFC Fight Night 29: 638,000 viewers
UFC Fight Night 31: 641,000 viewers

UFC Fight Night 30: 122,000 viewers
Payout Perspective:
If you look at the pure numbers for the night, it did the best out of all UFC Fight Night’s since the first month of the network. It could be due to the patriotism as the fights on paper were not eye-popping. However, if you watched the fights, they were very entertaining. Given the early start times for the fights, especially on the west coast, the show did well and will likely rise in the ratings with those that DVR’d the show.
Good fights, for a good cause. I’d be interested to see how much money they raised for the Intrepid fund.

UFC’s ratings are horrible. Once again, neither the fight night event or TUF made the top 100 for cable ratings. UFC’s ratings have not only dropped but their demo ratings aren’t good anymore either. On FX their ratings were down from SPIKE but their demo was still at least decent. Now their demo ratings are low enough to knock them out of the top 100 week after week.
Good fights, no ratings because of no mainstream name recognition.
