Rousey signs on with William Morris

March 1, 2013 by Jason Cruz 3 Comments

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Ronda Rousey has signed on with talent agency William Morris.  The Wrestling Observer reported that Rousey was offered a role in the Hunger Games sequel to Dana White’s chagrin.

The rumors of Rousey doing movies has the UFC head concerned.  He stated on “UFC Tonight” that Rousey would make more money from fighting than from movies.  White went on to state that if she was in a movie like The Hunger Games sequel its likely that she would be out of the Octagon for a prolonged period of time.

Payout Perspective:

Its not clear whether Rousey would be interested in movies although the allure of Holllywood’s fame and fortune would be irresistible for many.  Signing with WME does not mean she is actively looking at movie roles.  As many know, GSP signed on with CAA to secure mainstream sponsorships.  This could be the same case for Rousey.  Still, signing on with WME must make White concerned that he could be losing a draw in Rousey.

If she keeps fighting and winning she can be a long-lasting flavor. If she’s out of the cage for a while, or loses, the flavor will wear off.

she has been with WME since around the Kaufman fight.

Jon Jones is with WME also, and I believe the UFC is with WME too right?
