Phan gives “how to” video on MMA judging

January 14, 2011 by Jason Cruz 3 Comments

A rematch between Nam Phan and Leonard Garcia is set for Ultimate Fight Night 24 in Seattle, March 26th. Phan-Garcia II is a result of suspect judging in their initial encounter in which Garcia won the match but many, including Joe Rogan, believed Phan earned the decision. In hopes of preventing another error, Phan has produced this instructional video.

Payout Perspective:

The viral video is a low-budget way for a fighter to market themselves and Phan does a good job in lampooning his controversial loss. It shows he has a sense of humor and can deal with adversity. It could possibly help out with future sponsor opportunities. While the production level is low, it has some direction and it is much better than Brock Lesnar’s recent effort to promote his forthcoming book.  Also, I like the homage to Street Fighter.

Honestly, I am already tired of hearing him talk about it. Many guys get hosed, but Phan’s repeatedly discussion, and bemoaning, of the outcome has pretty much killed any sympathy I had for him.

I don’t mind him whining so much as I mind his constant playing of the race card. There is no great conspiracy as Asian fighters. Leonard Garcia (another minority by the way) has won bullshit decisions against people of all races. Judges just love watching him windmill. It has nothing to do with race.

That senile old man let kids get raped

Penn State has announced it is opening the Paterno Family Football Experience Room, a "permanent museum experience" to celebrate Penn State's football history.

The exhibit will open over 14 years after the school removed Joe Paterno's statue following Jerry Sandusky's crimes.

I repeat, Joe Paterno knew what was happening to those kids. F him, this trash university and anyone who defends it.

Ballmer, Kawhi, and Uncle Dennis just experienced firsthand the consequences of the inevitably unbeatable force that is the innate Filipino desire for chismis.

I'm reminiscing today about some Ballmer articles that I wrote 12 years ago.
