2010 MMAPayout.com Media Rankings # 3 – MMAFighting.com

October 27, 2010 by Staff 9 Comments

MMAFighting.com is the new kid on the block when it comes to major MMA sites, but thanks to its AOL Fan House backing and all-star staff it has quickly emerged as one of the sport’s top players. The site’s calling card is its exclusive video content from Ariel Helwani on the scene of every major MMA event.

When you post #2 tommorrow, refer to it as the ‘UG’, or ‘MMA.tv’ or nobody will no what you are talking about. Also make references to obscurities like OMA and Battleship. And don’t forget dfw jr! The piece should contain no less than 1,000 words.

And don’t forget the false link trick that links you to matbattle.

MMAFighting.com has an established stand alone domain/URL. Yahoo, ESPN, etc. do not. The HeavyMMA.com stand alone seems to be a recent development with an Alexa rank of 18,000,000 plus

I thought sub-sites were disqualified from being included in the rankings? Because MMAFighting.com is part of AOL Fanhouse, just as Bloody Elbow is part of SBNation.

There are plenty of great sites that should be included on this list who aren’t simply due to this silly (and apparently flexible) rule. Yahoo Sports, HeavyMMA.com just to name two.

mmafighting has reason pretty quickly over the last year. mostly due to ariel helwani relationship with the UFC. they have great access to post UFC event interviews.

Adam, I’ve done SEO for a few years and Alexa rank isn’t an accurate representation of site analytics at all.
