HBO, Showtime boxing events produce uninspired ratings

Dan Rafael of ESPN reports that Saturday night’s boxing events on HBO and Showtime were down based on ratings from Nielsen Media Research. HBO’s event drew an overall average of 663,000 subscribers for the live event.  Showtime’s event, which aired at about the same time as HBO’s event drew an overall average of 400,000 subscribers. Roc Nation sued by boxing promoters

ESPN reports that boxing promoters for former junior middleweight world titleholder Demetrius Andrade have filed a lawsuit against Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports in New York. ESPN’s Dan Rafael reports that Saturday’s Showtime event featuring Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. and and Marcos Reyes drew 663,000 subscribers with a peak of 707,000.  Chavez, Jr. earned a unanimous decision.
