If you are a diehard UFC fan, you watched Saturday’s Fight Night card from The Apex. The telecast on Paramount+ featured multiple ads with the president stumping for his candidates and reminding people he would be giving out $5,000 to every citizen if the Republicans maintained hold of the House and Senate.
Of course, giving away money to every U.S. citizen would be illegal without Congressional approval. But Congress is supposed to vote on wars too…Regardless, the ads were supposed to be pulled from television because they were taxpayer-funded for political/propaganda purposes and a federal judged ordered them to be stopped prior to Saturday’s airing. But, the White House disregarded the order.
The UFC has been a safe space for the Trump Administration since his first term in the White House. Last June, it held the UFC at The White House for the president’s birthday. While the UFC cried about losing $30M in marketing the event, there was a lot of money to be made on the back-end. For instance, the UFC received a no-bid contract from the federal government so “It” — the company would be compensated to “train” the FBI.
With the mid-term elections wavering to the end of the GOP having a majority in Congress and Senate, the fun times of the UFC fighting on the White House lawn may be over. But the ads were one last effort to get the young, conservative, male/UFC fan to vote for the president’s choices.
