The price for WWE PLEs is about to go up.
ESPN announced that as of September 17th, it is raising its monthly subscription prices. Specifically, the ESPN Unlimited package which allows subscribers to watch WWE Premium Live Events is increasing. The monthly rate of $29.99 per month will now increase to $31.99 per month. The annual rate increases from $299.99 to $319.99.
ESPN Unlimited launched one year ago this month with WWE holding its first event on the subscription-based tier in September.
The last WWE PLE was Summerslam at the beginning of August. The next will not be until October’s Money in the Bank.
The rise in subscription rates might see a retraction in viewership numbers. Then again, it never happened with the UFC raising its subscription prices.
The Direct to Consumer Model seems to gaining some traction and lest we forget that college football is coming up this weekend. The Unlimited option also includes all ESPN Networks including the SEC and ACC Networks. A lot of content aside from the monthly WWE PLEs
