Mayweather responds to CSI Entertainment Injunction request

June 25, 2026 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Floyd Mayweather, Jr.’s attorneys responded to CSI Entertainment’s Motion for Preliminary Injunction to prevent Mayweather from fighting this Saturday in Greece. The response includes the inference that the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight will not happen in September.

CSI Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Mayweather and motion for a temporary injunction due to the fact it purportedly breached a contract with it for a fight with Mike Tyson. CSI Entertainment claims it negotiated a deal with Mayweather’s business associates, Frist Apex Ventures, LLC. However, Mayweather points out that he has sued them.

The response includes a Declaration from Mayweather’s business manager Walter Jordan. In the declaration, he states that the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight scheduled for September of this year is now off. Also, Netflix is no longer in the running to air the rematch.

Mayweather attorneys (specially appearing which likely means only to respond to the injunction) argue that Mayweather signed a deal to fight Greek kickboxer Mike Zamidis in a boxing exhibition in prior to the Tyson Agreement which was signed in August 2025. This was before the contract for the exhibition with Mike Tyson was signed. They argue CSI Entertainment had not secured a venue for the Tyson fight.

Mayweather’s response also notes that the Tyson contract was extended only through May 31, 2026. Hence, the fact that Tyson was injured and could not fight before May 31, 2026 did not automatically extend the contract.

Mayweather’s attorneys state that while the Tyson contract was agreed to between CSI Entertainment and Frist, the Pacquiao fight was not finalized until November 2025. Mayweather’s manager claims that the fighter had not received any money from the Pacquiao agreement. Thus, without explicitly saying it the brief infers that CSI Entertainment negotiated with Frist without Mayweather’s knowledge and any cash advances did not land with Mayweather. Rather, it stayed with Frist. This would fall in line with Mayweather’s lawsuit with his former business associates. He seems to be arguing that Frist negotiated with CSI Entertainment for a fight without Mayweather’s knowledge. Ironically, this is something that Pacquiao’s associates have been doing with Manny for years.

The brief argues that CSI Entertainment had secured a deal for a Tyson fight and Pacquiao fight but Mayweather had the right to find a fight before either one due to the fact Tyson (nor CSI Entertainment) were ready to fight by the deadline date. CSI Entertainment argues that they would be harmed by the fight in Greece going forward due to indirect economic harm it may cause Mayweather’s fights with Tyson or Pacquiao.

Stephen Espinoza filed a Declaration in support of Mayweather. This is ironic considering that he is being sued in a separate lawsuit by Mayweather. The Declaration notes that CSI Entertainment was in charge of the promotion of the fights once it secured the rights. He also went on to opine that the fight in Greece would not “diminish the value of future events involving Mr. Mayweather.”

Mayweather’s attorneys note that CSI Entertainment did not seek injunctive releif when he announced the Zambidis Fight on Instagram in March 2026. Moreover, even after a press conference on May 7, CSI Entertainment did nothing.

In addition, Mayweather argues that the delays in the Mayweather-Tyson Fight are a result of CSI Entertainment’s failure to “perform their contractual obligations in a timely manner.” This is based on its inability to secure a venue for the fight and/or extend the contract to fight for Tyson-Mayweather event due to injury.
