Promoter sues Mayweather for cash advances

June 18, 2026 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Floyd Mayweather is involved in another legal clash. This time its over alleged cash advances on two fights set to take place this year.

TMZ Sports reports a lawsuit filed on Thursday in New York by CSI Entertainment claims the 50-0 boxer breached his contract. CSI Entertainment is the promoter for two Mayweather fights this year according to the report by TMZ Sports which reviewed the lawsuit. The first is the exhibition fight with Mike Tyson that has been postponed until later this year due to a Tyson injury.

The second fight is the scheduled September 19, 2026 fight against Manny Pacquiao. The fight was scheduled for the Sphere and to be shown on Netflix although that has yet to be confirmed.

CSI Entertainment claims they paid $4.5 million to secure Mayweather and paid it to him via his management company Frist Apex Ventures. As pointed out by TMZ, Mayweather is involved in a legal lawsuit against Frist Apex Ventures.

The breach occurred when Mayweather received a separate $150,000 advance, he turned around the following day to announce a fight in Greece against Mike Zambidis.

This lawsuit comes the same week news broke that he was being prosecuted for bouncing a $200K check for a watch. He also is suing his former business partners as written above. He also has an ongoing lawsuit with Showtime Boxing and Stephen Espinoza claiming they stole money for him.

We will see if CSI Entertainment is serious if they file an injunction to prevent Mayweather from fighting next week. Of course, they would likely like him to fight as its clear he does not have cash funds. At this point, CSI Entertainment wants to make sure he can recoup the money advanced to him.
