9M viewers is the goal for Rousey for Netflix event

May 14, 2026 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

It is fight week for Most Valuable Promotions MMA event on Netflix. Ronda Rousey takes on Gina Carano this Saturday and during media rounds Rousey has a goal for the event.

Rousey wants to beat the 8.8 million viewers that watched Junior Dos Santos face Cain Velasquez on Fox in 2011. The fight, which lasted about a minute drew nearly 9 million viewers for the first-ever network event for the UFC.

Obviously, the return to MMA for Rousey has brought back her competitiveness. On Wednesday she indicated that her goal was to have the most watched fight in MMA history.

Rousey has been making the media rounds and its clear that she wants to make this event bigger than any that the UFC has put on. While she admits that it’s nothing personal with Dana White, she is taking it personal with Hunter Campbell.
