Breaking: Rousey-Carano return on Netflix

February 17, 2026 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

As many had suspected with Ronda Rousey’s videos on social media, she returns to MMA. This time she takes on Gina Carano in a fight that will air on Netflix.

Earlier this month, there was news that Gina Carano was preparing to return to MMA.

๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜ฑ John Wood reveals Gina Carano is back training daily, and there may be something on the table:

"She's back training every day. We spent first couple of months getting back in shape and now she's training with the pros."

Since last year, Rousey posted judo videos and more of her training which led one to believe that she might be making a return.

The speculation turned to reality with the announcement Tuesday morning.

The event will be promoted by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian’s MVP Promotions and will stream on Netflix. For Netflix, this event will boost the subscription base and garner some great buzz. Despite the acrimony that some had with Rousey, her return will spark nostalgia. Carano was the “it” fighter before Rousey and she was one of the most popular figures of the Strikeforce Era. Notice, that the logo has a homage to Strikeforce in VS.

Certainly, there will be interest, but I would not expect this fight to be of any quality. These are two aging problems with severe head trauma. Neither will have the flash or technique they once had. Moreover, making this a 5-round fight guarantees it to disappoint.
