Masvidal obtains $5M default judgment for Nate Diaz fight

October 16, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Jorge Masvidal received a default judgment against online platform Fanmio for the former UFC fighter’s boxing match against Nate Diaz. If he is able to collect, he would be able to collect over $5 million from the company.

Masvidal was to be paid $6 million for the fight plus another $1 million if he won. Masvidal claimed he received only $1 million plus a $150,000 advance. Masvidal’s lawsuit went to arbitration where the arbitrator sided with the fighter.

Notably, Nate Diaz was awarded $6 million by an arbitrator including holding Fanmio’s CEO Solomon Engel personally liable for $500K of the arbitration award.

Payout Perspective:

Its one thing to get an award for this money, its another to collect. It would seem that with over $11M for Fanmio to pay the main event fighters in the June 2024, the company never made that money in selling the event. You might recall that the fight was postponed once and included a press conference brawl. We will see if Fanmio files for bankruptcy or finds a way to pay the amount.
