Fanmio owes Diaz $6M after arbitration award

October 16, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

An arbitrator awarded Nate Diaz $6 million in a dispute with pay over his June 2024 fight with Jorge Masvidal. The arbitrator also found Solomon Engel, owner of Fanmio, personally liable for $500,000 of the $6 million award.

Diaz had filed a lawsuit and it was moved to arbitration. The arbitration took place over the summer and the arbitrator found in Diaz’s favor. In addition, the Arbitrator awarded Diaz prevailing party attorneys’ fees of $297,813.65 and reasonable costs of $51,747.50.

In addition to this Judgment, Fanmio lost another arbitration to Diaz’s opponent, Jorge Masvidal. The former UFC fighter was awarded $5 million of his purse which the company failed to pay.

Both awards were made into judgments and both parties may attempt to collect.

Payout Perspective:

It’s hard to think that Fanmio pays out $11 million if it could not pay Diaz and Masvidal’s original purses. But Diaz did get the Arbitrator to award $500K against Engel personally which means that Diaz and his attorneys could attempt to liquidate Engel’s personal assets. We will see what transpires.
