TKO pays UNLV $1.75M to move football game

August 22, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The UNLV football team moved up its game against Idaho State at Allegiant Stadium three weeks to Saturday per a request from TKO so that it could hold the Crawford-Canelo fight on September 13th.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal the amended contract for the game includes $500K to Idaho State. In addition to payment, TKO agreed to give UNLV 100 tickets to the fight and a suite.

Earlier this year, the UNLV Athletic Department announced it was $27M in debt. Returning to the Mountain West Conference should help the debt issue as the school is part of the conference revenue sharing model.

UNLV originally had the September 13th date at Allegiant Stadium. The deal was brokered in June by TKO in order to clear the way for the Canelo-Crawford event to take place at the venue.
