Zuffa Boxing has been in the warehouse for several years as Dana White has mused over injecting his UFC model into the sport of boxing. He will get his chance this fall as it was announced that Zuffa Boxing will be promoting the Canelo-Crawford fight in September.
In an interview with Jim Rome, White confirmed that the fight will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Aside from Canelo-Crawford, there are no other events announced for Zuffa Boxing.
Payout Perspective:
No confirmation on how Zuffa Boxing will be run but we may infer that White will be in charge of the promotion and production of events while Saudi Arabian executive Turki Al-Sheikh will likely be involved in the bigger “tentpole” events. Will White be able to transfer his model of selling the brand as the star of the show while paying the fighters a modicum of the revenue?
