PFL announces July 26 event in Cape Town

May 8, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The PFL announced that its next big event will be in Cape Town, South Africa on July 26th. The card will be headlined by 2024 PFL World Champion Dakota Ditcheva taking on Sumiko Inaba and Johnny Eblen defending his PFL Middleweight title against Costello van Steenis.

The event will take place at GrandWest Arena in Cape Town, South Africa. The event launches the 2025 PFL Africa Tournament with Heavyweight and Bantamweight divisions.

Francis Ngannou will play a role in developing the region on behalf of the PFL. You may recall as part of his signing with the company, he wanted to play a part in developing fighters in his native Africa.

Payout Perspective:

No word on whether the July 26th event is a PPV or not. The PFL has not delivered on competing with the UFC as the second-biggest promotion in the world. Instead, it had to let several key former-Bellator stars go due to the lack of inactivity. Arguably, the company’s biggest star, Ditcheva has been chomping at the bit to get back into the cage since her win this past November. She gets to co-headline the Cape Town card with former Bellator star Johnny Eblen defending his middleweight title.
