UFC 307 main event announced

August 16, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Dana White announced the main event for UFC 307 to be held October 5th from Salt Lake City, Utah. The card will feature Alex Pereira taking on Khalil Rountree for the UFC Light Heavyweight title.

This will be the third time Pereira will be defending his title this year. Rountree is the winner of 5 straight fights and it is his first chance at the light heavyweight title. Of those last 5 fights, three received a Performance of the Night Bonus.

The announcement for the title came with some rumblings as the promotion skipped over Magomed Ankalaev, who is the #2 ranked UFC Light Heavyweight. Ankalaev is known for his wrestling which may impact the style of fight.

In addition, Raquel Pennington will make her first title defense of her bantamweight’s title against Juliana Pena.
