UFC Sphere event official, rebranded to Riyadh Season Noche UFC

June 27, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Dana White’s opus, a UFC event at the Las Vegas Sphere is taking place on September 14th. Instead of the UFC event with a number, it has been rebranded, “Riyadh Season Noche UFC.”

Coming off what appears to be a successful Fight Night in Saudi Arabia last week, the UFC has named Riyadh Season as title partner.

The event is touted as paying homage to the great tradition “in combat sports of holding big fights around Mexican Independence Day.” This is the second year that the UFC has held an event during this weekend usurping boxing’s hold on the combat sport tradition.

Although no fights have been officially announced, Sean O’Malley defending his belt against Merab Dvalishvilli. Also, there may be an outside shot that Conor McGregor will be healthy enough to return.

Payout Perspective:

No surprise in the UFC holding this event at the Sphere, it is interesting that the Saudis have paid to sponsor this event. Last week’s Saudi Arabia event was tremendous for the UFC as it showed the global interest and with Riyadh Season looking for inroads into the sport, the UFC is likely benefiting from the investment. While White has said this is a one and done event at the Sphere, if Riyadh Season likes the return on investment, it could be an annual event.

Wait, is this for real? Trump spent $60 million of our taxpayer funds to host a UFC fight and then is selling UFC coin to line his family’s pockets. The Trump corruption swamp is a mile deep.
