Former UFC champ has $3M tax debt

May 11, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Khabib Nurmogomedov is in trouble with Russian tax authorities according to a report from Reuters. Bear in mind, the report is from another report which claims the former lightweight champ has to pay taxes of $300 million rubles.

Citing another report from Mash, Nurmagomedov has had his bank accounts belonging to his Eagle FC promotion, and a charity fund, blocked.

Since his last fight with the UFC, Nurmagomedov still coaches several fighters, established the Eagle FC promotion and started several businesses. The report of his debt is based on the closing of several of his companies. The report states that Eagle FC may be closed down in the near future. Document irregularities seem to be the reason for the halt on Khabib’s businesses.

Payout Perspective:

Bear in mind these are allegations but they would seem to be pointing toward issues related to associates of Khabib taking advantage of him or the former UFC star not paying enough close attention to the business. To be honest, with Khabib seemingly revered in his country, his businesses would have had to do something really out of the ordinary in order to get Russian tax authorities looking into the situation.
