UFC adds Smith+Nephew to sponsorship stable

March 26, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

On Monday, the UFC announced that it had entered into a deal with Smith+Nephew as its first-ever Preferred Sports Medicine Technology Partner.

“Through hard work, significant investment, and groundbreaking innovations like the UFC Performance Institute, UFC has become the industry leader in athlete health and safety in combat sports.  We’re looking forward to advancing that mission by also promoting better health and recovery through technology solutions, such as those offered by Smith+Nephew, that will benefit UFC athletes and fans alike,” said Robby Miller, Vice President, UFC Global Partnerships in a press release announcing the multi-year marketing partnership.

The deal will give Smith+Nephew a branded presence throughout the UFC Performance Institutes in Las Vegas, Shanghai and Mexico City. They will also receive a brand presence throughout UFC digital and social channels. There will also be an “annual Brand Ambassador fund that will bring the partnership to life through appearances, content, and creative campaigns with UFC athletes.”

It would seem that this partnership is based on the UFC PI as the sports medicine component would make sense in helping out athletes. Here we see another sponsorship committing to the UFC and another new category for the company.
