July 8, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC 290 took place Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event was the culmination of International Fight Week and the card came through with a number of stoppages and great fights.

Dana White announced the attendance of 19,24 with a gate of $9.75 million. UFC 290 was a sellout per Dana White.

The bonuses went to Denise Gomes and Dricus du Plessis and the Fight of the Night went to Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja.

Gomes earned her bonus with a first-round TKO of Yazmin Jauregui. Dricus du Plessis earned his $50K bonus with a finish over Robert Whittaker. DDP’s finish earned him a shot against Israel Adesanya for the middleweight title as Izzy entered the Octagon after the fight to size up the South African.

The Fight of the Night went to Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja as the two put on a 5 round masterpiece with the interim champion winning the title from Moreno.

There were a lot of other noteworthy performance tonight including Alonzo Menifield submission, Alexander Volkanovski’s successful title defense and Robbie Lawler’s storybook ending to his career with a 1st round KO of Niko Price.
