UFC on ESPN 45 bonuses

June 4, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC on ESPN 45 took place Saturday night at The Apex in Las Vegas.  The ageless Jim Miller led the bonus winners with a KO of Jesse Butler in under 25 seconds in the first round.

Miller took the fight on just two days’ notice after Jared Gordon dropped out.  Unfortunately for Jesse Butler, Miller stopped him before the fight got going with a flurry of punches that ended the night for his UFC debut.

Muhammad Naimov needed two rounds to defeat Jamie Mullarkey.  Naimov was another short-notice replacement and was the biggest betting underdog on the card.  Yet, he pulled off the upset of Mullarkey.

The Fight of the Night went to Alex Caceres and Daniel Pineda.  Caceres fought off an armbar attempt that looked pretty deep to come back and put on a great performance.  He used his striking to narrowly edge out Pineda.

Thank you Seattle for the privilege. How often can anyone buy a Super Bowl winning team? Humbled.
