WWE Raw gets huge ratings for day after WM

April 5, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

WWE Raw on the USA Network Monday night drew an average of 2.26M viewers with a 0.76 rating in the 18-49 demo per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily. It was a huge bump coming off of a gigantic Wrestlemania 39.

The first hour of Raw drew 2.471M viewers, 0.85 in the 18-49 category and number 1 overall in cable.  The second hour drew 2.255M viewers and 0.76 in the 18-49 category while the final hour drew 2.054M viewers and 0.68 in the 18-49 category.

Notably, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship game aired on CBS opposite RAW and drew 14.69M viewers and 3.73 in the 18-49 category.

The first hour was commercial free which helped with the audience as it would compete against the college basketball finale.

With news that WWE had been sold to Endeavor and that Vince McMahon was returning in a prominent role with WWE, the company is in a curious position.  Viewers were upset with the content of RAW and pointed to McMahon’s return to the helm as a result.

Keeping the Wrestlemania momentum is always a chore for WWE and with McMahon returning to produce the show many believe that the storylines and character development will decrease interest based on the ending of Monday’s show which promoted a tag team match that never happened.
