Dana White shown slapping wife, expresses remorse

January 3, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

TMZ supplied a video that showed Dana White slapping his wife at a club in Cabo San Lucas on New Year’s Eve. The video shows White’s wife slapping White across the face and White reciprocated.

Getting ahead of the story, TMZ includes the UFC head’s response to the video stating that it was fueled by alcohol but there is “no excuse.” In addition, ESPN released a story which includes a remorseful comment from White.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – DECEMBER 08: (L-R) Opponents Darren Till of England and Dricus Du Plessis of South Africa face off during the UFC 282 press conference at MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 08, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC)

Via ESPN:

“I’m literally making no excuses for this thing at all. It’s never happened before. It’s the first time it’s ever happened. People are going to say what they’re going to say and it is what is. Whatever people say is deserved. I deserve it.”

The news story is bad news for White as his latest venture, Dana White’s Power Slap League begins next week.

Payout Perspective:

This is obvious damage control on the part of White and he has to own what the public sees in the TMZ video. With the next UFC event not until last week, it will be interesting to see if White attends the pre-fight or post-fight pressers because his issue in Cabo should be on the front of everyone’s minds. Also, White, who has been hard on domestic violence (and rightfully so) must now navigate the issue with his own situation.

This Anthony Smith situation is sad, its another cry for help of someone that's obviously suffering from something. No way you harm your wife and threaten to kill yourself just because.
