AEW tops NXT in special return to Tuesday night wars

October 20, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Tuesday night saw NXT and AEW Dynamite run up head to head against one another.  While AEW defeated NXT as it did in the past, the ratings were not too far apart.

Per Nielsen, via ShowBuzz Daily, AEW drew 752,000 viewers on Tuesday as it made way for the MLB Playoffs on TBS and NHL Hockey on TNT.  NXT on the USA Network finished 4 spots behind the 8th ranked AEW with 676,000 viewers.

AEW Dynamite did come away with more in the A18-49 demo with 0.26 in the A18-49 demo, 0.13 F18-49, 0.39 M18–49.  Also, 0.20 A18-34, 0.07 F12-34, 0.25 M12-34, 0.32 A25-54, 0.33 in over 50.  NXT drew 0.18A18-49, 0.14F18-49, 0.23 M18-49, 0.10 A14-34, 0.08 F12-34, 0.08 M12-34, 0.24 A25-54, 0.34 in over 50.

Payout Perspective:

AEW overall viewership is down this week but perhaps expected considering the amount of sports that were on the television on Wednesday.  NXT ratings have been competitive in the last couple of weeks but AEW still reigns in the younger demo.
