UFC on ESPN 40 draws 734K for main card, 490K for prelims

UFC on ESPN 40 drew 734,000 viewers on ESPN Saturday night per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.  It took second in the ratings for Saturday night.  The prelims drew 490,000 viewers preceding the main card on the network and were good enough for 5th overall.  

The main card drew 310,000 viewers in the A18-49 demo and a household rating of 0.41. The feature event was Thiago Santos taking on Jamahal Hill.  The Fight of the Night recipient saw Hill stop Santos for the victory.  The telecast drew 0.24 in the A18-49, 0.12 in F18-49, 0.35 in M18-49, 0.16 in A18-34, 0.09 in F12-34, 0.16 in M12-34, 0.30 in A25-54 and 0.33 in over 50.  

The prelims drew 191,000 viewers in the A18-49 demo for a rating of 0.28.  The ratings drew 0.15 in A18-49, 0.09 in F18-49, 0.21 in M18-49, 0.10 in A18-34, 0.07 F12-34, 0.10 M12-34, 0.19 A25-54 and 0.24 in over 50. 

The main card telecast is slightly lower than the 762,000 viewers that saw UFC on ESPN 39 with last month’s prelims also doing better with 548,000 viewers.  Last month’s card did air an hour earlier than this main card which started at 10pm ET.
