UFC on ESPN 40 bonuses

August 7, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC on ESPN 40 took place Saturday night at The Apex in Las Vegas. On a night with each fight ending in a stoppage, 5 fighters came away with $50,000 bonuses.

The feature fight of Jamahal Hill and Thiago Santos took the Fight of the Night Bonus.  Hill pulled off the stoppage over a game Santos.

Bryan Battle executed a head kick which knocked out Takashi Sato in just 44 seconds into the first round.

Mohammed Usman won the TUF 30 Heavyweight crown with a KO of Zac Pauga in the second round.  It was a counter left hook that dropped Pauga and earned the TUF 30 honors and a $50K bonus.

Geoff Neal may have had the performance of the night.  Neal looked fantastic in a stoppage win over Vincente Luque.  It was the first time anyone had knocked out Luque in his career.
