UFC 273 Prelims draw 791,000 viewers

April 12, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The UFC 273 Prelims on ESPN drew 791,000 viewers on Saturday night.  It drew 367,000 in the A18-49 demo per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.

The Prelims also drew a 0.40 household rating.  It drew 0.28 in the A18-49 demo, 0.13 in F18-49, 0.43 in M18-49, 0.22 in A18-34, 0.13 F12-34, 0.25 in M12-34, 0.28 in A25-54 and 0.31 in over 50.

The Prelims were good enough for 2nd overall in cable rating on Saturday to the NASCAR CUP Series.  Also of note, the Formula 1 Grand Prix telecast scored 3rd right behind the UFC.

The feature fight of the Prelims saw Ian Garry defeat Darian Weeks in a battle of welterweight prospects.

2022 UFC Prelims

UFC 272:  1.526M (started 1 hour 10 mins late due to overrun)

UFC 271:  901K (started 12 minutes late due to overrun)

UFC 270:  421K (started 15 minutes late due to overrun)

Payout Perspective:

Viewership was down from the highly anticipated UFC 272 show featuring Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington.  Saturday was a packed day which included The Masters, NASCAR and three boxing events occurring Saturday night. Still, the ratings were decent and it hit its core audience.
