Trojan Condoms expands partnership with UFC

April 6, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The UFC announced the expansion of its sponsorship deal with Trojan Condoms on Wednesday.  The deal includes a new Trojan UFC “Wrapping Station” which reminds Fighters and Fans to “Protect Yourself at all Times.”

Via Sports Business Journal

The deal between the UFC and Trojan Condoms began in 2020 when the promotion made its first-ever Official Sexual Health Partner in North America.  It now has expanded to co-branded opportunities.

The pre-fight wrapping of fighters’ hands in the locker room is now being rebranded as the Trojan Wrapping Station.  The use of what was once considered “B-Roll” is now being described as an asset during UFC broadcasts.  Similar to the sponsored Fighter Prep Point right outside the Octagon, the UFC is taking advantages of similar points in its broadcasts and monetizing them.

Additionally, Trojan will now be featured on the UFC Prep Point during all UFC Fight Nights hosted in North America.

No financial terms of the deal were disclosed. The new partnership this Saturday at UFC 273.

Payout Perspective:

Once again, the sponsorship deals for the UFC are skyrocketing to their benefit.  The branding power of the company is reflected in how it is able to sell portions of its broadcast to sponsors.  Manscaped purchased visibility in the 4th and 5th rounds of championship fights, Modelo has been a mainstay in the center of the Octagon, DraftKings obtained the fight clock at Ocatgon side and now Trojan has the wrapping station.  Not only is it able to take ownership of this part of the broadcast, Trojan is able to use the UFC tag line in conjunction with the deal.
