UFC’s London return draws sellout, 9 bonuses

March 19, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC Fight Night 204 took place in London on Saturday and did not disappoint with 9 finishes.  In an unprecedented move, the UFC awarded all 9 finishes $50K Performance Bonuses.

It was the first fight event outside the U.S. or Abu Dhabi since the pandemic restrictions limited live events and the fans returned to London for this.  The event drew a sell out of 17,081 for a gate of $4.5 million U.S. dollars.  It was the highest grossing single sporting event in The O2 History and the highest grossing fight night in UFC History per the promotion.

The bonuses went to the following:

Sergei Pavlovich

Muhammad Mokaev

Paul Craig

Makwan Amirkhani

Ilia Topuria

Molly McCann

Paddy Pimblett

Arnold Allen

Tom Aspinall

Payout Perspective:

The extra bonuses are likely due to the request from Dana White to feed the frenzied card with action and finishes.  Nine finishes on the card certainly gave the crowd what they wanted.  Pimblett and McCann’s finishes seemed extra amped up from the fans since they were big darlings of those in attendance.
