Velasquez went after individual that allegedly molested a “close relative”

March 2, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

As more information surfaces from the arrest of Cain Velasquez on Monday, it is clear that the former UFC champion went after an intended target due to the fact that an individual in the car allegedly molested a “close relative.”

According to the police report, Velasquez rammed his truck into another car and then began firing a gun into the car and injuring the driver.  The other vehicle carried Harry Goularte, who was recently charged with one count of lewd and lascivious act for allegedly molesting Valesquez’s “close relative.”  It was the stepdad of Goularte that was shot but suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Velasquez was charged with first degree attempted murder which is the most serious charge.  He faces a hefty prison sentence if convicted of the counts.

Payout Perspective:

Obviously there are circumstances surrounding the shooting which include the mitigating factor that Velasquez was enraged by what may have  happened to his relative at the hands of this individual.  But, one might suspect there are still charges the former UFC champ will face despite what many in the MMA community believe was a justified assault.
