Canelo-Plant set for November 6th Showdown

August 20, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant will fight on November 6th for the super middleweight title.

The two agreed to the fight this week which will be presented by PBC along with Canelo Promotions per ESPN.  The fight will unify the super middleweight titles at 168 pounds as Alvarez holds the WBO, WBA and WBC titles while plant maintains the IBF title.

🇲🇽 Este 6 de noviembre vamos a poner al boxeo de México en todo lo alto. ¡Vamos por el cinturón que nos falta!

The fight was on again and off again as negotiations ran hot and then cold.  The fight was originally projected for September 18th in Vegas but that date went by the wayside as it looked as those Canelo had set his next fight against Dmitry Bivol.  But Plant came back into the picture.

Payout Perspective:

This will be one of the biggest fight in boxing in years as Canelo is the sport’s top star right now and Plant presents the most formidable opponent for him.  The delay of the fight from September to November shall help with marketing for the fight as it should get a lot of promotion during College Football and NFL football games this year.  As far as location, the fight will most likely land in Cowboys Stadium or in the alternative Las Vegas.

UPDATED: Didn’t look at the Canelo post closely but it looks like the fight is set for Vegas.
