Report: UFC 263 draws 500K

June 18, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal reports that UFC 263 drew 500,000 PPV buys on ESPN+. With international buys, it “had around 600,000 total buys.”

The event featured two title fights headlined by Israel Adesanya as he defended his belt against Marvin Vettori.  The event also saw Brandon Moreno win the UFC Flyweight title against Deiveson Figueredo.

Also, Nate Diaz returned in a 5-round fight against Leon Edwards.

Payout Perspective:

The PPV shows the rise of Israel Adesanya as a needle mover and Nate Diaz as the needle mover.  Even in a loss, Diaz was probably the most popular fighter of the evening.  Adesanya’s profile is developing worldwide and is great for the international fans. The buy rate is a great example even though Diaz probably sold a lot for his hardcore fan base.
