AEW 662K, NXT 641K

January 8, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The news of the insurgents at The Capitol in Washington, D.C., pushed down ratings for Wednesday night wrestling as AEW drew 662,000 viewers and was 48th overall in cable ratings.

WWE NXT drew 641,000 viewers good for 68th overall in cable ratings Wednesday night.  It drew a 0.16 household rating.

AEW drew 0.25 in the A18-49, 0.34 in A18-49, in 0.34 in A25-54 and 0.27 in the over 50 category.

Payout Perspective:

AEW included a big push for a new show featuring Cody Rhodes and Snoop Dogg that premiered the next day on TNT.  But, with many people fixated on the news in Washington D.C., the ratings were off.  Normally in the top 10 of cable on Wednesday night it dropped to 48th overall.  NXT did not seem affected by the news and produced pretty strong ratings for the night.
