Fury-Joshua make verbal pact for showdown in 2021

December 21, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Mike Coppinger of The Athletic reports that a verbal agreement has been made between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua for a fight for May/June 2021.

Last week Joshua defeated Kubrat Pulev in his return to the ring.  Fury last seen in the ring was February of this past year where he defeated Deontay Wilder in their rematch.

Eddie Hearn says Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua is verbally agreed to and contracts are being drafted for the heavyweight championship fight in May/June. Hearn says only “minor issues to resolve” such as who walks last, the site, etc. This fight is going to happen next #FuryJoshua

Payout Perspective:

One would expect that there are more than just minor issues to hash out.  The biggest being the purses.  But one might expect the site of this event being either in the UK at Wembley Stadium or Principality Stadium in Wales but one might monitor the COVID-19 infection rates in the areas as this is a fight that deserves the stadium feel. One might expect this fight taking place on multiple PPV platforms including DAZN.  Assuming DAZN gets to air the PPV it will be a huge win for them.

They did this for Khabib in his last fight

hayjive @hayjivepicks

Never seen such blatant corruption at a championship weigh in. Khamzat is one of the last to the scales and it takes all of 3 seconds for commission to shout “185” he doesn’t touch the scale at all, scale doesn’t even settle. Just gives him the weight. Insanity…

It is comical the UFC can be the most political sports organization in the history of American sports for clear aims (Ali Act, WH event) while promoting a candidate w/ the most extreme agenda in 50 years and when called to task for that help, pretend they're helpless observers.

Ali Wong's ex-husband got off easier than Russini's current husband.

Now that this Vrabel-Russini thing is full blown, will DC chill tomorrow on the #UFC weigh-in show with Sanko or no
