Three fights at UFC Fight Night 183 scrapped due to COVID-19

December 18, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Three fights have been scrapped due to COVID-19 at UFC Fight Night 183 this Saturday night.  The latest being Karl Roberson and Dalcha Lungiambula which was cancelled this morning prior to the weigh-ins.

Lungiambula still showed up on Friday to weigh-in and made the middleweight mark at 185.5 pounds.  Roberson tested positive for COVID-19.  He announced this via social media.  This is the second time that this fight has been postponed as Roberson tested positive which postponed their fight from UFC 256.

In addition, Belal Muhammad and Dhiego Lima’s fight was pulled from Saturday as Muhammad tested positive for COVID-19.  Muhammad announced on twitter that he didn’t feel good, got tested and was positive for the coronavirus. Also out of the last fight event of the year for the UFC was Aiemann Zahabi as he tested positive for COVID-19 and his fight with Drako Rodriguez was taken off the schedule.

Payout Perspective:

As the infection rates surge, the UFC has tightened COVID-19 protocols.  Yet, this has not slowed down the number of fights that are being postponed or cancelled.  Hopefully, these will be the final fights to be postponed due to COVID-19 for tomorrow.
