Vettori replaces Holland for this week’s UFC main event

November 30, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The UFC is juggling its matchups once again due to a positive COVID-19 test.  This time its Kevin Holland that has been pulled from his main event fight with Jack Hermansson for this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card.  Marvin Vettori is stepping in on short-notice to fill-in.

Holland announced via social media of his need to pull out of the fight.  Hermansson was originally scheduled to fight Darren Till but he had to pull out due to an injury.

This will be the second week in a row that the UFC has had the main event of its evening cancelled due to a positive COVID-19 finding.

Payout Perspective:

With the surge of positive COVID-19 tests in sports, the UFC is not alone in having to be flexible in putting out its event.  With the company putting on an event each week, this has been somewhat difficult as seen by this past weekend’s cancellation of the Lewis-Blaydes fight.  This time, the company was able to plan ahead in light of Holland’s case.

New: UFC President Dana White has sent a letter to President Donald Trump asking him to help reverse the 90 percent limit on gambling loss deductions for US taxpayers that became law last year.

The issue has been a concern for both bettors and the gambling industry itself.
