New EA UFC 4 video game touts strong first month of sales

September 17, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The EA UFC 4 video game finished second in overall video game sales in August according to NPD.com.  EA UFC 4 was just behind the latest edition of Madden in terms of video game sales for the month.

Both video games debut last month and were the only two sports titles in the top 10 sales last month. The numbers include both digital and retail sales.

Both games were produced by EA Sports.  The last time EA Sports created a UFC video game it was in April 2018 and did well with sales in the first month of its release. Conor McGregor was on the cover in the last game.  This time around it ranked first in Europe in its first week of sales.  Its official release was on August 15th.

Jorge Masvidal and Israel Adesanya are on the cover of EA UFC 4.

Payout Perspective:

The launch of the video game and sales were aided by a substantial push which included celebrities playing the game the day before the launch on ESPN as well as pre-launch sales that included boxing stars Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury as added playable characters in the game. Of course, the pandemic, which has forced many to stay at home are turning to video games as a source of entertainment. This can only help the EA UFC 4.  Whether or not the sales will sustain, we shall see.  Despite poor reviews, the Madden video game was bound to sell well as its one of the most popular franchises out there.  According to the sales information accessed, it appears that the game has done well globally and one might infer its done just as good here in the U.S. only coming in second to the Madden franchise.

@Josh_HokitUFC You’re gonna cry you were cancelled by the left for “free speech”. And then you’ll post 200 times a day on Twitter until fox and friends invites you on to “tell your story”. And after that you’ll run for congress and your campaign will be centered on white grievance.

This is

Real question. Was this announced or is there an intern somewhere that is taking note of ever fighter’s follow and unfollow?

Ian Garry unfollowed PFL fighter Alexei Pergande after a clip resurfaced of him taking down Garry in sparring:

"Ian Garry is lying about me... I'm not sure why he made up a lie [about me filming him without permission]."
