UFC Featherweight out of fight Saturday due to COVID-19

August 28, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Giga Chikadze has withdrawn from his fight with Alex Caceres due to a positive coronavirus test.  He was scheduled to fight Saturday at UFC Vegas 8.

The featherweight was pulled from the bout due to a positive COVID-19 test.  Caceres will now meet Austin Springer on Saturday night.  Kevin Croom was the original replacement for Chikadze as he noted on social media that he had been signed but he was removed from the bout for undisclosed reasons.

The report of Chikadze’s withdrawal was first reported by adjarasport.com.

Payout Perspective:

No word as of this writing as to why Croom was signed then released within just a days’ time.  But Springer missed weight on Friday by 5 pounds.  Obviously, he has an excused as he just steps in literally at the last minute to fight and had to time to cut weight.  The news of another fight being altered due to the COVID-19 precautions shows that the company is adjusting to the new normal.

Dana White is such a MAGA stooge. He runs around every podcast talking about how he’s “not political” and how Donald Trump is “just his friend,” all while asking that same friend to help him write off more gambling losses and throwing him a UFC fight in front of the White House

New: UFC President Dana White has sent a letter to President Donald Trump asking him to help reverse the 90 percent limit on gambling loss deductions for US taxpayers that became law last year.

The issue has been a concern for both bettors and the gambling industry itself.
