WWE reports multiple performers/staff positive for COVID-19

June 25, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that several WWE staff and performers have tested positive for COVID-19.  The list includes Renee Young, Kayla Braxton and Adam Pearce.

Young made the announcement on twitter. Pearce, a WWE producer, also revealed the news on twitter.

Man. What a few days. My show gets cancelled and I get Covid. Wear your masks and wash your hands. Stay safe, everyone ❤️

— Renee Young (@ReneeYoungWWE) June 25, 2020

Notably, Braxton has tested positive for COVID-19 a second time.

Prior to the news, the WWE had not tested its employees, performers or production people.  Rather, they were doing temperature checks of individuals entering the Performance Center.  The WWE now says that they are testing to prevent the spread and ensure the health and safety of others as they continue to produce new content.  Previously, it was reported that a developmental talent tested positive for COVID-19 leading to production to be shut down.

Payout Perspective:

The news of positive tests among WWE staff and performers reflects the current state of the pandemic.  While things are opening up to the public, there is a risk of attaining the virus.  Hopefully for all affected, COVID-19 will reveal only asymptomatic symptoms.  But the fact that Braxton tested positive again should make everyone weary of the virus.  With Florida opening up early and allowing sports to continue in the state, the number of positive tests was expected to rise.  Unfortunately, they have dramatically increased with no end in sight.
