White has location for Khabib-Tony next month

March 24, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Dana White tells Yahoo! Sports Kevin Iole that he has a location for the Khabib Nurmogomedov-Tony Ferguson fight but did not disclose it.  In a video interview on Monday, White said that he’s “not ready to tell” yet.

In the midst of a pandemic, White has maintained that Khabib-Tony will happen even challenging doubters that believe for the safety and health of all involved, it should be postponed.  White thumbed his nose at the naysayers indicating the event would happen Saturday, April 18th on ESPN+

With news that Khabib Nurmogomedov has returned to Russia to finish preparing for the intended showdown for the lightweight championship, there was speculation that the fight may indeed be postponed.  But today’s news indicates that the event will go forward with a full card.

White did say that they are still working out travel logistics but he’d “figure it out.”

Payout Perspective:

The news is always evolving with the threat of the continued spread of the Coronavirus.  Travel restrictions may make it hard for fighters and staff to travel to one location.  Moreover, the risk of spreading the virus to other areas could be dangerous.  Yet, we forge ahead for some unknown reason.  How much will the UFC make versus how many people may be injured either directly or indirectly from this event?  We will not know.  One
