UFC postpones next 3 events

March 17, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The UFC has postponed its next 3 upcoming events after The White House issued new, stringent recommendations which include avoiding gatherings of 10 or more people.

Dana White vowed this past weekend that the UFC would continue on with events starting with UFC London.  However, due to the new restrictions given Monday, White had to let staff know it was knowing go through with finding venues for its events.

UFC London, UFC Columbus and UFC Portland will be postponed but White noted that UFC 249 is still scheduled as planned but it’s likely the location will change. White noted that the event will likely occur overseas.

Payout Perspective:

The move comes after every other major sport decided to shutter after of concern for the spread of the Coronavirus.  If the UFC had forged ahead (which it sounded like it was planning to do) it would have been in direct contradiction to the guidelines provided by The White House. The move makes sense and the next question is when the UFC comes back and will it be in April when Tony-Khabib is scheduled to go.
